Haws

These haws (hawthorn berries ) have appeared in the wood next to us, which makes it seem like autumn to me, however,  they are spot on because the berries should appear in July and August.
One article says that they have beneficial properties and that they can be used in conserves and wine, and another says don't touch them with a bargepole as they contain cyanide!
I'd best not make haw chutney then.
