Summer Walk

Nice little walk today.  Seeing this field got me thinking about the Harvest Festival that we used to have at school and church when I was small.  We all were asked to take in fruit, veg or tinned food and they were then sorted and made into parcels that were give to the elderly in the village.  Not sure if this still happens.

I also remember we had a service at school and parents came and the local baker used to make bread in the shape of a sheath of corn.   We sang 'We Plough The Fields And Scatter' and 'Come Ye Thankful People Come.'

I think I'm probably showing my age now.
