Upper Inverroy

Another sparkling clear morning.

Its become a regular event, once a year, Mhairi and her friends are off early on the train to Glasgow to see a show. I said to Mhairi you'll get some great mountain views passing Corrour and Rannoch in a wee while. Humouring me briefly she said "Will I take some photos from the train then."

"Oh that would be brilliant!"

"Don't be so silly!"

Dropping the girls off at the Roy Bridge station I already had Bruce and Caley in the car and it was directly on to Upper Inverroy. Frustrated by so little photo time yesterday (just seconds at the roadside) I put a tripod in a big rucksack for the wee tramp up the hill. (My thought was I'll bracket everything and double check composition) It is an awkward bit of kit to administer with Caley racing about with his big sticks and in truth I was only able to half concentrate on the photos for fear of it being toppled and I kept making loads of niggling wee mistakes.

After the dog walk I went to replace a headlamp bulb in my car. The handbook is surprisingly vague on this topic. You are required to first remove the radiator grill, the entire headlamp assembly after disconnecting its complicated looking power supply plug and then with the casing on a table you can remove a plastic lid which lets you see the bulb. Disconnect the cable to the bulb and then unclip it. Reverse all this after fitting a new bulb.
If you are doing this everyday you will do it in five minutes. But I unclipped the four grill lugs but the panel wouldn't budge despite the instructions saying just "lift off". I was convinced there was perhaps a post instruction print modification that needed some bolts undone too.

Finally it proved the trick was to pull out horizontally the base of the grill defeating the grip of lower push fit lugs (not mentioned in the instructions). The Land Rover Garage could offer no assistance over the phone either. He suggested I try google for suggestions or a local garage.

Anyway, I know how to do it now.
