end of a lovely day

We had booked the boat trip out of Portree today and I had high hopes of getting that shot of a sea eagle swooping in to pick up the fish thrown in for him. Well we were lucky enough to see the eagle (extras) but he wasn't interested in the fish ! Apparently the female sea eagle that regularly performed for the cameras hasn't been seen for a month. She is over 30 years old and hasn't laid an egg for 5 years. A new female has appeared and it would seem the male wants to be a dad and the old female has probably been chased away. Not good for the boat trip business.

It was a pleasant boat trip never the less and on the way back we took the scenic route through the Quiraing. It stunning scenery, see extras if you have time.

The end of the day was our regular trip to the end of the road and the sunset was golden on Neist Point lighthouse this evening
