BANDED DEMOISELLE

We drove to Helmarshausen for a walk along the Diemel and we chose that part where we the last time that we had walked there, had seen banded demoiselles, a lot of them. That was one year ago.
High time for a visit we thought.
We parked at the end of the Mückeholeweg and walked the nice path till we reached the little bridge for walkers and cyclists only.
Along the big farm and then we walked through the grass meadows till we reached the river and walked along it.
We saw the demoiselles but deep down on the shore, but soon enough there was one resting in the grass and I lay down on my belly to take photos, quite a few, because the insect did not move for a long time.
We left the river, walked back to the path, rested on a trunk of a tree, that we first had to free from nettles.
On our way back I saw the female banded demoiselle, also resting on a stem or twig.
She was so beautiful, sparkling in the sun.
There were other demoiselles too, but they flew away when we came near.
