Efforts are being made to brighten up one of Kendal’s yards. I don’t think we’ve had a day without rain since these umbrellas appeared a few weeks ago.

Later, on returning to the car after 20 minutes in M&S I couldn’t get in the driver's side due to an enormous puddle. I was tempted to say flooding but that may be exaggerating. Had to use the passenger door and climb over. 


The above text was typed earlier ready to copy and paste. Since then I've walked up to High Sweden Bridge in the afternoon sunshine. Then while preparing tea cut the end of a finger. Applied pressure and had a glass of wine ......... for medicinal purposes! Seems ok now.
