Gardener's Cottage
Had my practitioner exam this morning - bit stressful but hopefully I will pass.
Spent the afternoon looking round the shops and then met J and R at Joseph Pearce's for a glass of wine before going for dinner at the Gardener's Cottage, a new restaurant in edinburgh which I can highly recommend.
The resturant is based in what was a derelict cottage (with listed building status) with communal dining tables and an open kitchen.
The premise is that there is a five course set menu each day (£25) and all the produce is locally sourced, with some of the food being grown in the garden of the restaurant. It's all very Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. I guess it maybe wouldn't be suitable for fussy eaters but if you like to take a culinary chance and experiment it's great.
We finished off the evening with a couple of cocktails.
