An experience

Sunday at Kendal calling.

After our expedition to the loo, morning coffee and another snooze, chat with the neighbours and teenagers we decided to pack up everything this morning, a couple of trips to the car through the mud with shopping trolley, tents and chairs, such fun! We are going to stay to the end of Tiny Tempar, mine may be a little frayed by then!

Teenagers packed their stuff we packed ours then off they went for their second load while we waited at the car for a phone charge! The teenagers don't do rush and quite happily had us sat for an hour! When they did arrive we went off for our stuff. Last leg! No more journeys to the car, must be done in one, we cannot trudge this again and we managed. Tent down, all packed and back to the car again. We suggested the teenagers do the same so off they went and we waited at the car again. All done and all packed now to trudge in the mud to the main arena then its one more trudge to go home. We are counting the trudges.

We made a little pact. We were not going to moan about the mud anymore, it is rather boring, so as yesterday we'll embrace it! We promised ourselves fish and chip dinner and an ice cream but only if no moaning. So when we heard people moaning about the mud we said it was lovely and all part of the festival experience, ice cream looking good!

We spent the afternoon people watching, no drink today as we are driving. Its good people watching. We sat for hours. We talked to people. We spent 20 minutes watching a group of young lads, drunk, one tipped ones drink out of his hand then he tipped his out of his, stalemate! We just thought what a waste of 4.50! So then a little slap, oh and a harder slap in retaliation, we could see where this was going and it did, few choice swear words one being held off the other who was goading him, my training says remove the trigger but I wasn't prepared to get involved. After a highly agitated 20 minutes they gave each other a hug all smiles and made up again and off they went

Security were busy too, we saw two arrests, all discreetly done, swift and effective and a suspected broken leg from the main stage area waiting for Tiny Tempa!

My Tempa was a little thin now because he was late and I thought it was awful making his fans who pay his wage wait! But I have to say when he came on he was good and got the crowd going.

We didn't stay to the bitter end but we trudged in the mud one last time and saw the fireworks before we left the exit.

We found the car in the dark, thankfully. My friend said it was between two trees! Lowther park is full of bloody trees! We found it tho. Wellies off, shoes on, wait for teenagers.

They weren't long on this occassion and we were soon on our way sliding and stuck in the car park mud! Actually we made the right decision to come home when we did, it only took a short while to get off the grass and onto the road we didn't get really stuck just a little pause and a reverse! We were on the road by 20 past 11. All passengers dropped off and home by 12.30am.

Gin time!

Good night Kendal Calling its certainly been an experience.
