Pyrausta aurata (or purpuralis?)

A morning bike ride to test out my bike computer for its route finding abilities. So far so good.

Then some dire news from my dad: I finally got to speak to him today after returning from our weekend away and I found out my step mum is very ill and in intensive care following a necessary but invasive medical procedure; I'm waiting to hear more and have everything crossed. W's mum is still very poorly in hospital also and we never know from day to day how she'll be. Difficult times.

Z had to come down today to collect some of her essentials from home but the main train line, which trains to here have to use, was very broken She caught the train which would get her closest to home and I went to pick her up.  

In between all the goings on I'm finding the butterflies and moths in the garden a welcome distraction. My mothy friend did the ID on this one so I hope he's got it right! Small Copper in Extra. Also spotted were Large Whites, Commas, Brimstones and Green-Veined Whites along with the usual large numbers of Gatekeepers.
