Winterbourne House and Gardens

I first moved to Birmingham in 1970 and today was the very first time I've visited this delightful house and garden. It's famous. It's part of the University of Birmingham and it's not far from Edgbaston Cricket Ground. I've always planned to go there. This morning I finally made it.

My blip is of a particularly beautiful poem, set in stone in the farthest point of this "Arts and Craft, Jekyll-inspired, garden."

The whole site is peaceful and relaxing. The gardens are well tended, with beautiful views, varied and skilled.

The light kept changing as clouds, sometimes dark and rainy, came across.

I recommend this gorgeous place and I will certainly return. (It's free to RHS members Monday to Wednesday, another bonus)
