Striking Beauty!
This shot of a Crimson Rosella was taken through my kitchen window; it was fleetingly joined by a juvenile bird (I think, or maybe it could have been a female) with a greenish-olive body plumage, but way to quick for me to take a shot of them both.
We’d just had a very short burst of torrential rain (which the garden needed so badly) and if you look very closely you can see just a few tiny beads of water on its body.
Rosellas forage in trees and bushes for fruit, seeds or nectar, so whatever this bush is, it proved to be a tasty afternoon tea. Sadly, I think I scared it away by too many quick movements close to the glass.
Definitely brightened up a wet winter's day!
