Light…………..

……………As a Feather

Previously I have found many tiny feathers like this, but this is the first time I have actually seen one float to the ground - and ‘Light as a Feather’ is a perfect description of such beauty.

It happened yesterday as I stood beside a row of old pine trees watching nesting Pied Cormorants (sometimes known as yellow-faced cormorant or pied shag).
This dainty wee feather floated down and settled on a bush near to where I was standing. I carefully picked it up and brought it home for today’s blip.

I have also included three extra photos of these sea birds.
1 - An adult
2 - Two chicks in a nest
3 - A juvenile returned and demanded food from an obliging parent. Only look if you are brave - I’m just glad humans don’t have to feed their young like this!!

As I wrote this, my three previous blips were all sitting on the front of the popular pages - now one has rotated to the top of page two.  It is a huge thrill and I send you all a sincere thank you for your continued comments, stars and hearts.
