Skip's Blips

By Skip

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let ....

I think someone has been singing that song a bit too much, probably someone who likes to ski or snowboard. For the past 36 hours or so, it has snowed and snowed. Finally it is tapering off, with only an inch to three inches predicted for tonight. More snow and temps in the teens and single digits (that's Fahrenheit) are expected throughout the week, and we have already had about 8 inches above the norm for this time of the winter. I'm not really complaining though (even if it sounds like I am) because it is January, and snow is much better than ice, rain, and slush.

Blipping was hard today however. I put a plastic bag around my camera and only took it out when there was something to blip, but I still couldn't keep it completely dry.

And then there was the car we came upon that had slid off the road in the park and managed to get thoroughly hung up in a ditch. Turned out to be one of our neighbors who didn't have a cell phone and couldn't possibly have walked out...not having that much strength. Bob used his cell phone to call the man's son who came with a heavy duty truck and some rope. Together they got the van back on the road and the neighbor back home.

And then there was Gulliver whose lower half was so plastered with balled up snow by the time he and I got back to the car that I had to take him home and stick him in the tub with warm water, work the snowballs out of his fur, and dry him with my hair dryer.

Pizza, a glass of wine, and a movie on the TV is how we finally ended the evening, and now I'm off to bed. Night all!
