We went to a couple of local art glass places this morning to choose a birthday present. These are about the only shops that are open on a Sunday so we took advantage of being able to go together. I wanted to go to a  butterfly field that I had seen before but we ran out of time, mainly because I got mixed up regarding its whereabouts. I thought there would be enough life in the garden at home but a thunderstorm arrived after we had finished watching the Formula 1 race and everything had cleared off. 
This is an Hibiscus bud on a bush that our friends gave us a couple of weeks ago. I have been waiting for the buds to open - I thought they were white but there is a blush of pink and cream so far, it will be interesting to see when they are fully open.
