Leek

Visiting friends in Leek, Staffordshire for the weekend. Have had a marvellous time. Our visit coincided with the Leek show, so we have seen lots of prime lifestock, the longest leeks in Leek, pasties for lunch and carriage handling etc.

We have also sampled the local breakfast delicacy of oatcakes. These are a North Staffordshire thing, sold in oatcake houses, to farm labourers and other early risers alike. A dozen for £2.18! Or a filled one with cheese and sausage for about £1.70. They were great, and fun to try a proper local tradition.
