Learn To Fly

So the day could not be put off any longer... having turned 17 a few weeks ago and waiting for her provisional licence to come through, Ms H is finally ready to hit the open road - she was so excited!

It went pretty well... the downside is she's having to learn initially in a big muckle diesel, but we got through the expected kangaroo petrol moments, the engine stalls, the "no that one is the foot brake" and even fitted in a let's stroke the Shetland Ponies for 10 minutes. Mrs C got out for a walk and provided some target practice but we missed her.

We chose a very long straight quiet rural road with just enough width for 2 cars to pass each other. She managed to cruise in 2nd gear for a while, do some small hill starts and a reverse and we all came out of it still friends - result! One more practice then we'll have to start paying for her to be taught the right way!
