Playing Tourist, day 2

So, tonight was the end of Liverpool's year of being Capital of Culture. And what an end it was. A superb light and fireworks show at the Pier Head rounded off an amazing year for Liverpool. And a handover to next year's joint capitals - Vilnius and Linz. For what its worth, I wish them well. They will have a hard act to follow.

I have to confess to a slightly moist eye whilst watching the fireworks. Being in Liverpool over the last year has been a really special experience. I've loved every minute. To see it come to an end was ... well moving.

From the spectacular to the bizarre to the graceful to the controversial and the subtle, this has for sure been a year to remember.
