Graduation ceremony

Everyone my age remembers where they were and what they were doing when they first heard about the contest.

Megan, Angus and I head over to Glasgow this afternoon. I'm slightly hampered by a Vodafone snafu which has blocked my mobile data usage and a slew of South Lanarkshire road closures.

We pick up Owen in Mount Florida and head to Woodlands to prepare for the upcoming redecoration. Claire is duly collected at Buchanan bus station and we have a jolly supper at a Persian restaurant on Great Western Road. Vast plates of rice and lamb, with varied herbs, spices, and sauces.

Megan heads off for life-saving training as resits. We'll see her again on Tuesday night before she heads off to Tartan Heart. The rest of us exit east and head home.

Claire opens her post and finds her PGDE certificate - the culmination of a load of hard work. To celebrate we mix up a G&T and watch John Wick.
