Grey's Monument
This monument is in the centre of Newcastle and is named after the 2nd Earl Grey, Charles Grey who came from the North East and was Prime Minister in the 1830's. The famous tea is named after him.
The area around the monument is a busy meeting place for people and entertainers and occasionally the odd protest is held there. There are also farmers markets, Christmas markets etc. held in the area and underneath the monument there is Monument Metro Station. All in all it is a busy vibrant area of the city.
