Hidden away

Just off the main street in Appleby, you can walk down a passageway between the houses and you come to this little oasis. The Courtyard Gallery, in what was a 17th century granary, is a gallery with a changing display of paintings and prints, together with lots of other fascinating stuff. The cafe has good coffee and cakes, and there is an excellent range of greetings cards, which was what I was after today.
