Rain, rain, rain...

We've had a truly horrible day - wet and cold - one which actually made me contemplate turning the central heating on in September! In hindsight, I should have taken my photograph in the morning, when it was just overcast and breezy, but I mistakenly waited, hoping that conditions might improve.

I spent much of the day sorting out various office-based tasks, including finishing entry of the Chatsworth data into a spreadsheet (though it still needs a final check over and some accompanying text preparing). Now the fieldwork season is coming to an end, I shall be spending more time at the computer trying to get it all written up!!

The rain set in around lunchtime, and I eventually dashed outside as the light levels were dropping, snapping any likely object with my trusty little 50mm, set at F1.8. In the end the best of a bad bunch was this smudgy, rather delicate portrait of the Plume Poppy, which is adorned with a filigree of water droplets. How very different it loooks from my blip of two days ago, which was taken in hazy sunshine!
