The Mud Soldier #mudsoldier #passchendale100
Today was all about reflecting on the past, for the benefit of the future, a significant project completed some weeks ago bore lessons to be learnt for future projects and the need to record them presented itself.
Part of the day was about celebrating our success and that involved another reflection of the past. Prior to a meal, we enjoyed a walking tour of Westminster, in the surrounds of our head office entitled 'Westminster during the Second World War'. It was quite the enlightening walk, encountering details and parts of the area not commonly frequented by most. So en-route, it was entirely fitting to stop and ponder over the Mud Soldier, an artistic installation at Trafalgar Square, using mud and sand from the battlefield to commemorate the terrible sacrifice of WW1 at Passchendaele on a scale unimaginable.
