Shoe-Trees?

Although Northampton's glory days as England's main shoe-making centre are long gone, here's a quirky nod to the past. The walls surrounding Saint Giles' Church near the town centre have been adorned with unusual plant containers, bringing new meaning to a 'shoe tree' perhaps.
