A Tough Day

Mum is too exhausted to post a blip so here I am again! It has NOT been an easy day! Last night and most of today we had more HEAVY rain! Not only was it raining outside but it was also raining INSIDE our conservatory!! Our conservatory is OLD and not constructed very well and there are occasional leaks in one spot. But we woke up to a MAJOR leak all along the main wall - sopping wet carpet. Mum spent an hour or more mopping it up with old towels. For some strange reason there is carpet in here - drenched. Just when she had got most of the moisture out, it started storming again and the carpet was drenched within minutes. (It was even raining on ME for a few minutes!)

The sofa has been pulled into the centre of the room which had become a chaotic mess! Mum felt so upset and discouraged and defeated!! And so she came over to me for a cuddle - and then you won't believe!! She felt something on me under my chin - looked closely and it was a nasty little tick!! Sucking my blood into a little sac! I have NEVER had a tick before! We are not supposed to have them in the UK but they are getting more common! Thankfully the vet was open on Saturday morning so off we went in a hurry! They rescued me and got the nasty thing off in one piece! And I have felt fine, so no harm done. Of COURSE I got treats at the end of it. But really when it rains, it pours!! Literally, today!!

So, Mum had a whole list of things to get done today including a visit to Reading. Other than the vets we never left the house. Now Mum is in a bit of a panic! We are leaving on a big adventure in a few days and she has TOO much to do!!

(On closer inspection, and by looking out upstairs windows, Mum realised why this was suddenly such a problem - blocked and overflowing gutters. So now she is cross at HERSELF for not making sure those get cleaned out regularly! Our window cleaner is now coming in a few days to get them emptied!)
