Whirlpool Effect

This whirlpool fascinated me today. It was almost full tide when I  walked at the estuary and saw  the water being sucked down and under the walkway  to fill  up the last of the areas that are cut off from the tidal flow by this path. At almost high tide the opening is  well under water and creates this whirlpool.

There was no wind to day and the water was incredibly still and mirror-like. I have included two extras to show the wonderful cloud reflections on the polished surface of the water.
