signs of our time
Wednesday, work in town again. I went for my usual lunchtime walk. I had planned to check out the proposals for the Ross Band Stand replacement. I ended up going for a walk to inspect the demise of the St James Centre.
I also noticed this new feature of the Fringe. I just don't get it. Is it there to save lives? If so closing down Princes St to motor traffic would be a lot more help, or indeed, reducing traffic in general. And what about pollution, exploitation, etc. So, if it is not to save us, is it there to remind us that we too are under attack? It's so messed up.
Apart from the obvious, I just hope that no one will get squashed by the barrier when the crowd is visiting the Royal Mile.
