Wild Wednesday- very wild caterpillars

Today has been a wet day but it didn't stop us getting out at about. Day 3 of the summer holidays and after I had done a few chores at home we went to my sisters house so the children could play with their cousins. My mum kindly watched over them whilst I went for a little run around the park near my sister's house. I ran through the woodland and around the lake in the rain stopping a few times so ha e a look at the horses in the field and the ducks in the pond.

Afterwards we made pizzas (and ate them) and then took the children out for a walk for some fresh air. It started raining but they didn't seem to mind. On our way back my son spotted hundreds of caterpillars on these stinging nettles and I thought it would be a perfect photograph for Wild Wednesday.

I have found today quite tough! The children seem tired and they have been bickering and arguing and just generally getting on each other's nerves (which then gets on my nerves). Things aren't always jolly and happy and it's easy to get down about it. But I'm trying to keep a smile on my face and remember we are on holiday soon and that a change of scenery will do us all some good!! And a quiet day tomorrow will probably be a good idea too so they can re-charge!!!
