Last rose of Summer

Or is it the first rose of Autumn?
I believe to day is the first day of Autumn.
It is cold, and wet, and the central heating is on!

We are thinking of getting a wood burner before the winter really sets in.
First off the chimney needs sweeping, so the sweep is coming when we get back from holiday. Charges £30 which I didn't think was bad!
Then we have to have a liner put in, and then the fire etc fixed.
I am looking forward to toasting crumpets, and roasting chestnuts!
Back to the good old days!!

We are going to York tomorrow to the Food and Drink Festival.
Looking forward to some interesting tastings!

Off to open a bottle now, and start making tea.
