A birthday in California

Not literally alas. But a very good exhibition at the Design Museum about The Golden State and how its countercultural leanings have given us everything from radical artistic nuns to the iPad. Brilliant in fact, totally absorbing.

TSM had a lovely breakfast, pressies and a day out in The Smoke. As well as The Design Museum we wandered West London, dipped into Portobello Road market, went to the bookshop that featured in the film Notting Hill, had a boozy lunch, shopped in Wholefoods and met the boys for supper in the evening.
