A surprise encounter...

... this morning, whilst I was photographing something else.  I heard a little rustling behind me. When I looked, I saw a tail disappearing under the foliage of a bush.

I didn't have to wait long for this little creature to re-appear and carry on sniffing around. 

Over the next five minutes or so, I took a number of shots of what I think might be a wood mouse (though I'm happy to bow to superior knowledge). It was certainly happy to have its five minutes of fame.
