A lot of walking

This morning we got up earlier. After coffee and breakfast for Neil we got out and walked towards Mitte. There were a few shops we wanted to visit.
We first visited the made.com showroom Berlin. We are still searching for a comfy chair to complement the sofa. I would love to have a wingback arm chair, but I think I have to move away from that. The flat is just not big enough. They had one armchair we did like. It's called Scot and we could get the showroom piece for 30% off. But we are not so sure is we want it not rather in leather instead of the grey velvet they had there. We will have to think about it a bit longer.
We continued along Friedrichstraße into Mitte and hit a few more shops. There is summer sale on everywhere! Neil found a shop for Think! shoes on the way and I had to spent some time there. I love Think! shoes but only when on sale  :). I got a pair of nice sandals for less than half price and was happy.
We had coffee at the Nespresso shop. They now do an Iced coffee, which was really nice! We got some.
We also found a shop for a different brewing system with a bit more of an ecological approach. I have to say their coffee tastes indeed better than Nespresso ..... But changing the system would be a bit too much of a trouble.
We walked and walked exploring more of Berlin. Also found a mask and fancy dress shop where we got some Steampunk accessories for the wedding in September.
My diagonal camera strap broke yesterday! I was lucky that my baby did not fall on the floor! It was so annoying with the broken strap, that we looked also for a camera shop to get a new strap. We found one in a shop specialised on analogue processing. They had only one and it was expensive, but I bought it in the end ... I think it is really good quality and will not break.
Time was creeping on and we thought we'd better get back to the Kiez to meet Hoppy, our friend who is spending the summer in Berlin and will move into our flat next week after we have left.
But we saw a Stetson Shop and headed in.
The guy in there immediately started a conversation about photography. He is using 35 mm with an old Leica and has a mini darkroom in his flat for developing and printing. Some of his portraits were hanging in the shop. Fantastic work! I would so love to work with film again and develop and print myself! I am thinking about that since a while, but I have no possibility to build a darkroom in our flat. Maybe some day I have a suitable idea to realise that. I would also need some time .... which is probably the biggest problem.
The photographer is originally from Minsk and lived in London for 15 years. His work is really good. He has 13.9 k followers on Instagram!?
I have 72 hahaha!
after a long chat and exchange of business cards (his was very minimalistic - just had his name on it: Dima Zorkov) we took the U-Bahn back home.
We were in the flat just after 8 pm and it started raining.
We texted Hoppy and half an hour later he arrived. We had a glass of wine and I prepared some food out of the fridge and we had lovely cold Italian meats, French salami, cheese, tomato, cucumber, artichokes etc. We finished off with strawberries and cream.
We chatted until late and lent Hoppy an umbrella to get home. It was bucketing down!

The main blip had to be this rather stupid selfie taken in the U-Bahn Station Hermannplatz on the way home.
The extra I like a lot, it is taken at a traffic light and shows the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Friedrichstrasse.
