Miles away from the sea..

Still some remnants of the Grand Western Canal in Wellington. These are old wharf cottages dating from late 19th century. The canal was taken over by the Great Western Railway almost immediately on its completion and left to decline superseded by the railway.

Parts of the canal are navigable from Greenham to Tiverton.
