With branches of Boots and Specsavers within 100 yards, our local independent optician is working hard to attract custom!

After our swim this morning, Tess & I did some DIY in Chris's flat while he's away. After last Monday's misfortune with the lawn mower, this week I managed to fuse all the electric sockets while drilling holes to put up a coat hook on the wall! No damage done this week, the trip switch did its job, but another reason for Tess's mistrust of my handyman skills, born of years of long-suffering experience :)

On a serious note, nearly £150,000 has now been raised to support Jamie Mines, the footballer I wrote about in Saturday's blip; not sure yet how much the match added to that.
