CERN

On our last morning in Switzerland, we went on a guided tour at CERN just outside Geneva. This was something I had wanted to do for a very long time, as I am really interested in physics. I dragged Martin and Katie along - and thank goodness, they really enjoyed their visit too.
Our guide Kevin was now retired from CERN , where he had been a controller for one of the particle accelerators. He gave a very informative tour. The visual effects were also quite stunning. I thought I knew a lot about what went on there, but I learned a lot more today.
This monument is outside one of the main exhibitions. It represents all the scientists who have brought our knowledge of physics to where it is today , as well as depicting some of their ideas and formulae.
