Medieval wall paintings in Korppoo Church
The Korppoo Church represents the oldest church architecture in Finland, it has been built between years 1430 and 1440. Inside the church there are naïve medieval wall paintings, which renovators found under white pain in 50's. Like the most of all churchs in the archipelago, Korpo church also has a votivboat, a miniature made from swedish yacht Amadis. The bell tower was probably built for defensive purposes, not for belfry.
It has been lovely sunny day in Korppoo! We visited the small Korppoo town centre - I think we dropped by in every store there plus the market place. I also visited the church to see once again these charming wall paintings. Then we had lunch in the restaurant Buffalo and back in Villa Walden it was time to strart painting. We also celebrated Kirsti's Name Day. In the evening clouds covered the sky, when it was time to sauna and outdoor hot tub.
+20C, sunny, cloudy in the evening
