Aiming to reach Tal y Fan .........
But only got to Rowen, that day.
To start the second week of my leave, I decided to climb Tal y Fan, after walking to it, from Conwy. The walk to the mountain was very pretty, along country lanes. But longer than I had anticipated. So when I got to Rowen, I decided to have a quick drink at the pub. And got the (one of the few, on a Sunday) bus back to Conwy. Along the way to Rowen, I encountered a horse rider with another person leading a Shetland pony pulling a cart. That in itself made my day :-). Nearer Rowen, I encountered a horse in a field and a cockerel on the road. Both of which feature in the extra photos, along with a roadside flower. The main photo was taken when I was almost at Rowen. I can imagine the buzzard would fly over Tal y Fan :-). I hope to climb the mountain itself, another day :-).
When I got back to Conwy, I decided to go back to Rowen, for a meal (holiday treat :-) ) at the pub. I had some time to wait before the booking, so decided to explore Rowen. I went up a country lane that leads eventually to the mountain. And I was in heaven :-). There is a property for sale, at a farm. It is semi detached. So it inspires a '' if I win the lottery '' fantasy :- Of buying one cottage to live in. And if the second one was for sale ( and I had the money) , buy that one to be a tea shop, that was dog and horse friendly. In that if people come down that lane, walking their dogs, or riding their horses, they could stop off for tea and home baked cake at my tea shop, in my day dream. The horses could be hitched to a rail outside, with access to a year round water trough, while their owners were in the tea shop taking their own refreshments. Hay nets would also be available for the horses. Here's hoping I win the lotto :-)
