"Delia Smith's never got syphiliis!" #RLS Day #23

There's a rather overgrown plaque down the road for composer Frederick Delius who lived in Grez from 1897 until his death in 1934. Every time I pass it, I think of the dinnerladies episode where Dolly mishears the title of a documentary called The Syphiliis Delius Myth as the syphiliis Delia Smith, leading to her outraged statement quoted in my blip title today. Dolly believes a women with immaculate tea towels like bestselling cookery writer Delia Smith would never stoop to having a sexually transmitted disease.
