Gary Oaks Winery

I wanted to get a photo of the cherry trees that are covered by nets but I couldn't get close or get a good enough angle on them, so I took one of the winery instead.  This was taken from the side of the main road from Fulford to Ganges.  A friend has been doing some carpentry for the owner, so we'll have to go and inspect his work - and maybe sample some wine at the same time. We have enjoyed the Pinot Gris.  The winery has won quite a few awards.
We finally had some rain yesterday.  No more expected for awhile.  The forest smelled very fresh when I walked down to Burgoyne this morning.  Only passed a couple on the trail, which surprised me because there were a few cars parked.  The extra was taken down by the dock.  One of the huge arbutus trees either fell down or was cut down, and there was a load of logs and branches on the bed of the little truck.  More was stacked on the beach with a sign attached:  "RKY-17-9053  Do Not Take".
Kalyn's team ended up 6th out of 16 teams in its division - not bad in an elite tournament!   She should be home late tonight.  What a great experience for those girls!
