It was wet, wetter and wettest when 80+ fell runners and a number of hard-core walkers undertook the Old Crown Round which starts from the Old Crown at Hesket Newmarket and covers the northern fells 'back 'o Skiddaw' including Skiddaw itself and Blencathra. Tam and I walked to encourage him at Skiddaw House (you can see the terrain in one of the extras. You can also see how wet it was when the runners set off.
I fell over when jumping one of the swollen becks and now have two hands full of prickles!
