North Samal Cycle Ride
Lesson learned : Never ever trust someone when they describe a bicycle trail as "surprise" specially when the route is at the north of Samal. Else, you'll end up gasping for air and wishing someone would just show up with a vehicle large enough to carry your bicycles to your destination (this was yesterday). Well thanks to Myls, all of my "wildest dreams" came true. Thank god the destination was worth the challenge of getting there. Nevertheless, the exceptionally sweet Myls took care of me (brought hawtdog and bacon! yum!) well enough during the entire stay that i forgot about the day's mishap. Yesterday, we swam up to a floating hut just a few meters from the shore while marveling at the corals beneath us. The sea current was pretty rough so we had to hold on to the rope very tightly to get to the hut. We didnt do much while in the hut. We just laid on the floor until sunset. Sunset was soooo wonderfully reddish when we decided to leave for the shore. I would have wanted to stay longer if only the water was not so scarily dark and intimidating. Trips like this one are the kinds of getaways that energizes me. It doesnt have to be extravagant, a quick trip with a friend and a good night's sleep are all it takes to cheer me up :) Today we decided to leave our bikes at the resort. We cant go through another physically exhausting bike ride back to the city most specially because we woke up super late in the day (Myls is annoyingly squirmy in bed!!!).
