The scent of Summer.
The last day of fruit picking, or so we thought, but John has decided to open for two days next week.
Still a few raspberries left, also black currants, red currants and tayberries.
His wife always grows a row of sweet peas, which she sells at 80p a bunch.
Some lovely colours, and she always grows ones which have the best perfume.
This year it was one called April in Paris. A strange name for a sweet pea which flowers in July.
A lovely white, washed with mauve. A very delicate colour, and Mr C agreed it had the best perfume.
Going over to our friends for a BBQ tomorrow, and so have bought an extra bunch for F.
At the moment they are filling the house with such a beautiful smell.
