Campanula
These campanula seedheads are so small, and insignificant to look at at any sort of distance, that I'd never really studied them before. In fact they have a structure and texture that reminds me vaguely of the surface of a faberge egg, and the shrivelled fronds at the tip of each one look like strands of saffron. They all seem to be having a bad hair day... In the attempt to throw the background as much out of focus as possible I've restricted the depth of field rather too much. This is about the best magnification I can get at a wide aperture.
