Three Men And A Young Lady

Jessica now has her pick of three fathers; her biological father in the U.S., her British father, aka moi, and her Japanese father, aka my father-in-law. Kazutoshi was immediately bowled over by Jessica, impressed by her intelligence, good manners and her dexterity with chopsticks and origami (which he enjoyed teaching her.) He commented that even though he met her for the first time today, he feels like he has known her for a long time and would like to adopt her. Lucky for Jessica, she said she loves all three of her dads equally.

This evening I went to Ashiya to see the spectacular annual fireworks display. I sat on the ground in the park, while Jessica, Valerie and the other host family children and guests had a special table worth $200 at which to enjoy the display. It was a gift from one of the organisers. How lucky they are.
