The Path Less Travelled

Although this is a relatively new gate, the grass and undergrowth on the far side of it is thigh high, and I don't know when it was last opened. Not that many years ago the local Riding for the Disabled used to use the track, and it was well used by walkers across the estate, but recently it has been very overgrown, muddy and thick with giant hogweed. It is part of the old "coffin path" down to the village.

Lots and lots to do, with plenty of dog walking in between times!

I spent the afternoon sorting though drawers of old photos with D. Wonderful and amazing, fascinating and intriguing, there were hundreds of black and white photos going right back to Belize and Sierra Leone in the 40s and 50s! He was able to tell me names and places for most of them so I could label them for future reference.

To see the lives of generations of someone else's family in black and white, their christenings, birthdays, weddings, receiving decorations and graduations, at work and at play is quite an eye opener and makes you feel privileged to be sharing them.

After the photos, we tackled another bookcase . . . Off to the charity shop again in the morning!
