Flood

As usual the worst of the weather passed us by. We had much more than a month’s worth of rain in one day- 80mm, but other places had a lot more than that, with widespread flooding, and homes evacuated.

This is the worst flooding I have seen here for several years. Much of the paddock behind my house is under water. I can even see the river that is  more than a kilometre away. However, my elevated position means I’m above all that. Please excuse the raindrops on my lens. I had to aim into the wind.

The waxeyes have been feasting at the emergency feeders all day, though they still expect a steady supply in the usual place outside. They have finished the apple I gave them yesterday. See the remains in extra shot.
