Tree of Life
Once the hire car had been picked up at Wembley, we zipped up through Ware to Fanhams Hall. More like crawled, actually. But we did get here in time to stroll around the grounds, ogle the carp, and order a beer from the friendly local Romanian barman.
Before long the bride's mother (the old school friend) and stepfather did arrive. And then the bride - lucklessly stuck with her bickering mum and stepdad (their modus), the old school friend and scotchman for the last meal and evening prior to married life. Well, that should make it easier for her not to look back too fondly on single life, if nothing else. Haw!
I jest, it was all very enjoyable: it's always good to give your hoary old anecdotes a dust off.
