When you have fun in the sun

Couldn't believe the news this morning; of the earthquake in Kos and Turkey.

While we were on Nysseros they said there had been mild seismic activity that morning - i was mildly panicked - seismic activity and a volcano. What could go wrong?

Himself knows what I'm like. I like to have escape scenarios in place for any eventuality - and he carefully explained that if the volcano erupted while we were there, there was absolutely nothing we could do.

And that was okay - death by natural causes whilst experiencing a natural phenomena would be amazeballs. I could cope with that.

I could feel the sulphur bubbling under my feet. But nothing else happened. So that was okay.

In Kos there are remnants of the original ancient town dropped everywhere - left where they fell after an earthquake in the early 1930's.

The lovely restaurant we ate in under the purple flowers sat right next to the ruins of the ancient city and it was there we saw pictures from this morning.

Im sad people were hurt, im sad people lost their lives, but i'm really a bit sad that i missed an earthquake by 21 days.

I raise a glass of Ouzo tonight to a wee town full of old ruins which got ruined a wee bit more today.
