Near Niedzica Castle
Today was our free day, with no walks provided by the walk leaders. Kevin organised a party of 19 to go rafting on the Dunajec river.
We went by mini bus to see the 15th century church in Debno, then on to see Niedzica Castle. The queues for the ticket office were too long, so we pottered about and found beer and/or ice cream to sustain us.
This chalk painting is on the bridge over one of the dams. It looks like nothing much to the eye, but the camera shows it's full glory.
Then it rained. I mean really rained. The heavens opened and tipped huge quantities of rain down. None of us thought it was safe to go rafting.
15 minutes later the rain stopped. We had 2 very quiet and calm hours on the water. It was lovely.
The first extra is the youngest daughter of a family on our raft. All three children took turns to dress up as the boatman. The second shows some of our group in the other boat.
