Down by the Riverside

On the way back from Lydney, Gloucestershire (Forest of Dean area) I stopped at the 'White Hart' to take a photo of Jonty and the River Severn. This was near Newnham on Severn.
The Tide coming or going but it was very windy hence the small waves on a normally very calm river. This is about 10 miles from Gloucester so it is starting to broaden out into the Severn Estuary and eventually the Bristol Channel.
The river is tidal all the way up as far as Gloucester but it narrows considerably from this area which is what makes the famous 'Severn Bore' great for surfers!
