Jane Austen

Another pointless day at work. Managed to get a few things done but can't say the day was a success. Had to leave early to pay my company phone bill - I can now claim it back via the expenses system tomorrow!

After my trip the bank I spotted this new life size statue of Jane Austen in front of the Willis Museum in Basingstoke. I knew it had been made but I wasn't sure where it was. It's okay as public art goes but it does look rather plonked down in the square without any care or attention. I suspect it won't be popular with the market traders of lorry drivers that manoeuvrer in the square when things happen here...
